Trench coats, in my opinion are the classical beauty of all times. Inspired by the famous Audrey Hepburn, i believe it is sophisticated, classy, and just shouts confidence off from a women!

Now, sometimes when we look at our clothes, we can instantly decide which season it is suitable for the most. Trench coats are for winter that indeed comes into the mind when we think of them. But actually, it all just depends on what type of trench coat it is. Today, we have many different types, and they can really affect the type of occasion they would best be suited to, the season, and just how well they can overall go with the whole outfit.

If you are going for the Professional Look...

There is harshness and the coats are straight, these coats are originally inspired by the British Army (they look a bit like the one i'm wearing). Today we can wear them in general, however we like them. However, they are best suited for professional occasions. You can complete the perfect outfit with a office dress underneath, tights or no tights and heels are a must to give that pop to the outfit. Preferably heels that are thin.

Applying a darker shade of lipstick will also give that vintage touch to your outfit. Since I have been a fan of the film, Captain America I love the style that Hayley Atwell carries as shown in the picture below. It gives you a sense of authority, and a women that you can call sexy at the same time! I especially like the way trench coats can be concentrated around the waist with the use of belts, you can posses that perfect hourglass look. I also like the different ways that you can tighten the belt, I think the knot is the best.

If you are going for the Party Look...

Although Trench coats are best suited for the office environment, be informed that there are also other best ways to wear them! The longer the length of your coat is, the better it looks you are going out for a party on a cold, chilly, winter's night. Importantly, if you are wearinging a short, skin tight dress on. This way, you’ll not only be cold- free but also get the sexiest, sizzling hot look and make the most out of your outfit. Plus, its a good way to leave things sometimes for the imagination and this look give you that exact aura. Especially if you are going on a date with the love of your life, if they are taking you to a big restraunt then this is the perfect look. Have a look below for the outfit i have on mind.

If you are going for the Casual Look...

A friendly reminder though, you can also wear shorts and a tank top for a casual day out... with a long coat.

The whole reason why this look is something, is because of the way the coat somewhat gives definition to your legs. And if you are choosing to wear a tank top and shorts underneath, then rolling up the sleeves is a very good idea, i'm guessing its around spring time this outfit is perfect for right? Oh but remember, a baggy trench coat is the best when it comes to rolled up seleves. It screams that grunge look, full of comfort!

Don’t think that these are the only ways, wait I have more coming for you.

Trench coats can also be worn when all that you are thinking about is providing warmth. What i mean is that you can walk out in those baggy jeans or sweatpants, messy hair, boots or sneakers, a shoulder bag or a backpack, but putting that trench coat on won't make you look any silly! Look at how these guys have perfectly pulled the coat off and created their own style.

Since we are also learning to end conventions and wear things whenever we like to, it has become a fashion to dress in whichever way and give that taste of your personal style to others. Trench coats are also perfect for the best casual wear on that spring/autumn/winter season. If you are heading down to the café for a quick coffee with your friend, casual looks as shown below can help you perfect your outfit using trench coats. Just leave the buttons undone, and the coat to hang on around you, this would give the impression that you are relaxed and chilled out, unlike the buttoning up does which carries a sense of authority.

If you are going for the Baggy Look...

Harsh edged trench coats aren’t the only types out there. The fashion industry has left us with the most baggiest and jacket like coats too. If you want to go for a lazy look (but also the one that says im still good enough for that catwalk on a fashion show) then, wearing a baggy trench coat can also give you exactly that. Ripped jean, messy hair, converses and all, the choice is yours really.

But, I feel like the long baggy trench coats can also give you that perfect edge to your outfit if you are heading off to the city to do some shopping, or maybe even college (if the dress code is to dress professionally). The coat has a relaxed touch to it, but also makes you look very neat.

Or, become creative and create something of your own look using a baggy trench coat. Just like this lovely lovely lady below has.

If you Like to make a Statement...

I have also recently come across the statement making trench coats. So you see, its not just about the beige, black, maroon dark colours, a bright coat can also do justice to your fashion style, in particular your body frame. Its something out of the ordinary, crazy, but sophisticated at the same time. I can only think of how amazing they can look in the big city, surrounded by dull bodies. Guuurl you'd be getting those heads turning. To point out, these are designed by Burberry. Have a look at their awesomeness.

Some Tips based on the features of the coat...

Length

Now lets talk about lengths. If you like your coats buttoned up and prefer it to apply to casual occasions, then a short lengthend trench coat is perfect if you are wearing jeans/trousers, (anything that isnt a skirt) the short length trench coats would give the attention to your legs. Why this matters is because generally jeans are worn to fit around your legs, and to wear a long trench coat would cover the point. Another tip is that you can wear high knee-length boots with your trench coat if it is short.

( Burberry )

Like I may have explained before, the long trench coats (say the ones that reach below the knee) when buttoned up with tights or skin showing, it can be a fabulous combination. Whereas, if you're leaving the buttons open on a longer coat, then jeans or whatever you decide to wear under it won't destroy your look.

More Inspirations...

I have also been strolling around google images for more and have come across many other ways to wear trench coats, or the different types you might also say.

Look below for the never ending inspiration and decide for yourself how you would prefer your trench coat.

The sleevless look.

Studded arms?

Leather armed look.

Beautiful flare to the coat.
